My love affair with baking began in my grandmother's cozy farmhouse kitchen in rural Minnesota. I was just six years old when she first let me stand on a wooden stool to help her knead bread dough. The way the dough transformed under our hands seemed like pure magic, and from that moment, I was hooked.
Growing up, our kitchen was always filled with the warmth of the oven and the sweet aroma of something delicious baking. My grandmother taught me more than just recipes; she showed me how baking brings people together, creates memories, and spreads joy. These early lessons shaped not only my baking philosophy but also my approach to life.
After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America with a specialization in pastry arts, I spent five years working in some of New York's finest bakeries. While I loved the fast-paced professional environment, I discovered my true passion lay in teaching others how to bake. There's something incredibly rewarding about helping someone create their first successful loaf of bread or master a challenging pastry technique.
In 2018, I launched RecipesForBaking.com with a simple mission: to make baking accessible, enjoyable, and successful for everyone. I noticed that many amazing people were intimidated by baking, viewing it as too complex or technical. I wanted to change that perception and show that with the right guidance, anyone can become a confident baker.
This website is more than just a collection of recipes. It's a community where bakers of all skill levels can learn, share, and grow together. Every recipe I share has been tested multiple times in my home kitchen, with detailed instructions and troubleshooting tips to ensure your success.
